Advanced Psychotherapeutic Counselling Diploma - Level 6
The Level 6 Advanced Psychotherapeutic Counselling Diploma is designed to offer qualified counsellors advanced counselling training, building on existing knowledge and skills, to develop advanced competencies, increase qualifications and employment opportunities, and support counsellors to attain SCoPEd column B registration, should they wish.

Training medium
This course is blended learning, meaning that some teaching is delivered online and some in-person. Online training will be held weekday evenings. In-person training will be held in Hythe some Saturdays, 9.30 - 3pm
Fees
This course is released at a special introductory rate of £1250 for September 2026. Payment options are available please enquire.
Accreditation
This course is seeking Advanced Professional Course Recognition with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
Pre-requisites
This is post-qualification advanced training. Applicants must be either qualified counsellors or in their last year of core training, at a minimum of level 4.
Assessment
Assessment is via essays, group or individual presentations. Assessment is designed to be inclusive and robust but not exessive.
The Advanced Psychotherapeutic Counselling Diploma is a unique training developed in response to practitioner feedback on training sought post-qualification. Building on core training at Levels 4 or 5, the Advanced Psychotherapeutic Counselling Diploma provides depth and meaningful learning to support advanced competencies.

Course Content:
Transactional Analysis theory and practice is taught as the core model, supporting the acquisition of advanced knowledge, skills and reflexivity. This is taught in-person in Hythe, on a number of Saturdays throughout the year. Also explored are creative interventions using the arts and visual representation. Resources are provided for experiential learning.
Students explore a variety of specialist areas and in depth theory supported by specialised tutors. (Click here to find out more about our tutors) These sessions are taught online on a number of weekday evenings throughout the year, and includes introductions to:
