In addition she has qualifications and training in working with families, trauma, neurodivergence and disabilities. Claire offers counselling and psychotherapy in private practice and schools. Claire is an experienced tutor, most recently designing and teaching courses at The Link Centre in Sussex. Her experience has influenced her philosophy of offering academic rigour within warm, safe, small training groups, which embrace the profession’s ethical framework. She aims to offer training that stretches learners whilst being accessible, enjoyable and meaningful. Her core approach is an integration of Classical and Integrative Relational Transactional Analysis, trauma informed approaches and she embraces art and play based therapy. Claire is in the process of taking exams for UKCP registration (SCoPEd column C).

Nick Langley (He/Him)
Nick is a Senior Accredited Registrant with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (SCoPEd Column C) with a private practice in Hythe, Kent. He holds an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice (Distinction, 2022) alongside professional teaching qualifications and a level 6 Clinical Supervision Diploma. As an educator Nick designs and delivers both core and advance counsellor training. He leads small learning groups, favouring depth over breadth, and engaging dialogue over unilateral delivery. His approach invites critical thought and keeps the therapeutic frame open, contemporary, and actively anti-oppressive. Trainees benefit from his ability to translate complex concepts into accessible learning, grounded in over a decade of clinical practice. Nick's approach is humanistic ways of working, especially existential – phenomenological. He specialises in working with Autistic and/or ADHD clients and therapists, and is trained in therapeutic group facilitation.

Elaine Caswell (She/Her)
A qualified counsellor since 2014, Elaine brings over a decade of clinical experience supporting cancer patients and those with long-term health conditions. Her practice integrates therapeutic counselling with complementary therapies, honed through specialised training at Mount Vernon Hospital and work at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. Elaine is also an established educator, authoring and delivering accredited Level 2 and Level 3 counselling qualifications alongside professional development workshops. A lecturer since 2002, she translates real-world clinical insight into practical, rigorous training. Elaine is interested in Transpersonal approaches to therapy and specialises in cancer, long-term health conditions and end-of-life therapy, as well as holistic therapy integration.
In addition to tutors from the collaborative, you will be taught on Epione's courses by our specialist tutors:

Lou Keogh (They/Them)
Lou holds a Level 6 Counselling Diploma in Transactional Analysis, and is working towards Level 7 Integrative Psychotherapy. They are an NCPS Accredited Registrant and UKCP registered Trainee Psychotherapist. They have worked with mental health and drug and alcohol services since graduating in Psychology in the 90’s. They hold a MSc in Substance Misuse. Most of their work experience has been with drug and alcohol services, both residentially and in the community, with their current role being the counselling lead in the East Sussex drug and alcohol recovery service, part of a nationwide social care charity. They are particularly interested in relational trauma, both childhood and adult, and how the lingering effects can manifest. They have an integrative approach to their client work, drawing on models in TA, mainly from the Relational School, attachment theory, Jungian analytical concepts, neurobiological insights and trauma informed approaches. Their clinical experience extends beyond addiction to depression, anxiety, PTSD, C-PTSD, bereavement/loss and LGBTQIA+/identity issues.

Georgina “Gen” Nugent (She/Her)
Gen is a Transactional Analysis psychotherapist (in advanced clinical training) and an experienced Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (DE&I), wellbeing and culture practitioner. She holds a Level 6 Diploma in Counselling (TA) and is a registered member of the NCPS. Alongside her private practice, Counselling with Gen, Gen has spent many years designing and delivering training across organisations, supporting people to build more inclusive, psychologically safe and human-centred cultures. She brings a particular passion for neuro-inclusive practice both within the therapy room and across wider systems, helping to remove unnecessary barriers so people can feel seen, understood and able to thrive. Her work is grounded in Transactional Analysis and shaped by a relational, trauma-informed lens. She is especially interested in how identity, power, privilege and lived experience show up in our relationships with ourselves, with others, and in the therapeutic space. As a tutor, Gen creates warm, engaging learning environments where people feel safe to reflect, be curious and gently challenge themselves. She aims to make complex ideas accessible and meaningful, supporting learners to translate DE&I principles into thoughtful, ethical and inclusive practice.
